How tapware can inspire a room’s design
Words by Teresa at Embracing Space.
From the first consultation with my client, I knew we were going to collaborate on a stunning design. A contemporary Port Melbourne apartment with beachside views, the current bathroom, shower-room and laundry were three separate spaces requiring a dramatic transformation. This was my opportunity to create a distinctive space that was open, luxe and tailored to my client’s needs.
With black and white as inspiration, and touches of timber to give overall warmth and ambience, I knew Meir’s range of premium products would be perfect for this project!
As soon as we started the selection process, it was clear the Meir Zitto Wall Mixer would become a key design consideration, inspiring all other fittings. Its beautifully curved edge worked faultlessly with the clean lines represented throughout the project to create a contemporary shape that complimented the overall design.
The Zitto Wall Mixer was paired with the Meir Matte Black Round Spout and an Omvivo Venice Basin. A combination made in heaven! We wanted to introduced a custom mirror to add sophistication to the design. After an exhaustive search we still hadn’t found the perfect piece to balance the Q6+ matte black porcelain benchtop and the streamline black woodmatt custom joinery. Inspiration struck and we used the design language from the mixer and echoed the curve in a larger scale in the mirror. The highly skilled glazier was briefed and we received the perfect curve and sizing on the wall, the custom mirror was created.
Inspiration is all around you, especially with interior design. Having a beautifully designed mixer captured the style and look my client was seeking and ensured I exceeded their expectations. Without the Meir Zitto Wall Mixer to inspire the overall aesthetic of the space, we wouldn't have been able to execute this sophisticated design! I constantly highlight the importance of tapware to my clients when considering a bathroom or kitchen. Not only for style, colour and functionality, but for how it inspires you to live and enjoy the space uniquely created for you.
Don't be afraid to be inspired by tapware and always take a moment to observe the finer details!
